The second pilot of the VITAL platform was organised in Istanbul in coordination with IEEE/IFIP International Workshop on Platforms and Applications for Smart Cities (PASC) 2016 and held in conjunction with IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS) 2016. Around 20 people attended to the pilot and the audience of the pilot was City Authorities of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), ITU graduate students who work on smart cities and IoT technologies, conference attendees and developers from companies in ITU Technopark.

In the workshop the VITAL platform and architecture is detailed by the project coordinator Dr. Martin Serrano.

The engagement of the participants was positive and developers from one Technopark company interested in using the VITAL platform and asked for possible collaborations in future works. Besides graduate students who work on IoT technologies also had the chance to see the running demo of the VITAL platform and had the opportunity to think about possible applications that can be run over VITAL platform. Also the city authorities were able to see how they can benefit from the VITAL platform.
