NetFutures 2015: born to scale, held in Brussels on 25–26 March 2015, was the first edition of a new EU-organized conference building on the success of the Future Internet Assembly conferences. Aiming to maximise the competitiveness of the European technology industry, NetFutures 2015 brought participants together to form an interconnected community of companies, organisations and individuals in the fields of Research & Innovation, Market Validation & Living Lab Research, Business Development, Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Strategy and Policy Making.

VITAL presented its progress in integrating technologies for smart cities and visitors to the VITAL stand, including European Commission representatives, were able to view the VITAL Live Demos in action. The ability to integrate diverse smart city data systems using VITAL tools was clearly demonstrated, highlighting the increased potential for a Smart City Operating System (SmartCity-OS) and for connecting future smart cities arising from VITAL’s powerful interoperability. European Commission representatives were interested to see and discuss VITAL’s solutions for smarter traffic management in Istanbul and smarter working in London.
